Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : How does a Government Grant Work? ( For college)?

How do i get a government grant?
How does it work?
Is there a site online i can apply for one?
Do i have to pay it back?

This is for my college degree. At Lincoln college of technology in West Palm Beach, Florida. I will be paying for my schooling myself. And im trying to find a way out of paying the full tuition.

Answer by Amber Marie
It will not pay your full tuition unless your full tuition is $ 5350 a year, which is about the federal Pell Grant maximum amount. You need to fill out the FAFSA to get grants. You have missed the priority deadline, so your funding may be decreased as the funds have been depleted by now, but there should still be some left. If you are going in state you may also qualify for a state grant, which is received after filling out the FAFSA. These are need based awards. You do not have to pay back grant or scholarship money, only loans. Fill out the fafsa from your tax forms at www.fafsa.ed.gov, but next time do it in February. Scholarship deadlines have passed as well (Marsh 1st) though there are still a few avaliable, most come from the school, so don’t wait so long next year to apply. You may have to go with loans for this year and apply for scholarships for next year, a lot of them start taking apps in October for the next year.

A grant is a great source for education, did you know that there are government grants as well as private grants available. Try this site, they should be able to answer your questions and also help you decide which grant is best for you. Good Luck

Check out Federal Student Aid Web Site or FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

I suggest you explore all federal funding and grant options at the Federal Student Aid website http://federalstudentaid.ed.gov/

You may also want to read the Handbook of the Pell Grant — this is an 86 page document that contains everything about the grant
http://ifap.ed.gov/sfahandbooks/attachments/0203Vo3MasterFile.pdf

Or you can call the Federal Student Aid Information Center http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/gtepfpg.pdf at 1-800-433-3243 and ask them if there are any programs for you

Aside from FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and Pell Grant http://www.ed.gov/programs/fpg/index.html , you may want to explore private foundation grants

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : What makes your hair grow fast , I have read a couple things online but i want opinions from people ?

Answer by Pessimistic
It’s in your genes, so if it doesn’t grow fast you’re kind of out of luck. But drink water and keep your protein up. Because keeping your hair healthy means it won’t break and split so much so it will seem longer if that make sense? Also a trim every 6-8 weeks. I’m not sure. It’s usually what you put in your body that can help.

Answer by justme
There is no product that will make your hair grow faster. It is purely genetic.

Answer by Zinkee Minkee
My hair is thigh length.

I think there is nothing you can apply to hair and make it grow faster.

1. its genetic
2. it depends upon your diet.

I eat everything I like. Fats, fruit , carbs – everything. My diet has lot of omega-3, betacarotine too. and I am overweight 😛

1. One thing I can suggest is to control-damage. Hair that breaks – is a loss in length. For controling damage – apply oil to your hair once a week before shampoo. Nicely masagge your hair with warm oil – can be olive oil / coconut oil. I use coconut and some times mustard oil.

2. After hair wash, gently pat dry your hair with soft towel, and apply hair-serum at the ends and mid shaft of hair. This will keep hair tangle free always – and hair will not break at time of combing.

3. use good quality synthetic hair tie / rubber bands /

4. Use silk pilow cover – so hair does not break with rubbing at night.

5. Tie hair high in bun so that it does not touch the chair – behind you and rub in office and break.

6. Don’t leave hair open all the time – they get tangled and break – keep them tied up in a braid.

Well – my hair is very beautiful – thick and falls straight like a water fall till my thighs.

1. Baking Soda
Rinse Your Hair With Baking Soda Once a Week to Remove Build-Up
You can actually do this one of two ways: Add 2 Tbsp of baking soda to 3 cups of water. After shampooing, rinse with the baking soda water and then condition as you normally do. Or, if you have a way to keep your baking soda dry as you shower, put your shampoo in your hand (as usual) and then sprinkle a decent amount of baking soda on top of that. Then just wash your hair.
The baking soda will REALLY help clarify your hair and leave it shiny and silky – kinda like it’s brand new.
Who Should Use This: It’s okay for any hair type (especially if you only do it once a week), but it’s best served for people who have issues with hard water or product build-up, dull hair, or hair that just hangs out and doesn’t have much life to it.
2. Eggs
How to Use Eggs in Haircare
Much like the baking soda above, the quickest and easiest way to get the great egg effect for your hair is to add a beaten egg to your regular shampoo. Just whip up the egg and pour some shampoo in the bowl with it. Wash your hair as normal.
Alternatively, you could whip up one or two eggs (depending on your volume of hair) and rub them into dry hair. Cover with a towel or shower cap and leave on 15 minutes before washing out. And please heed the note below.
Make sure the water you rinse with isn’t so hot as to cook the eggs. THAT would be a mess.
Who Should Use This: People who have brittle or delicate hair – or anyone just wanting to add luster, strengthening, and moisture.
3. Molasses or Maple Syrup
How to Use Molasses or Maple Syrup on Your Hair
Pour either of these things (you can dilute the molasses with water if it’s too thick to scrub in) on dry hair. Wrap with plastic wrap or cover with a good shower cap. Leave on for 20 minutes. Wash as you normally do. Note: Please use real maple syrup or molasses – none of this “mostly high-fructose corn syrup” crud. That’s not going to help much.
Who Should Use This: People with dry hair or anyone who wants a very hearty boost of moisturizing.
Bonus: Black strap molasses, taken internally (about 2 tsp a day) can help clear up acne and strengthen hair and nails. In fact, a couple of studies have shown that daily ingestion of black strap molasses may, in fact, help alleviate hair loss and even restore hair.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar for Shiny, Bouncy Hair.
How to Use Apple Cider Vinegar on Your Hair
Add 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water. Shake well.
After using conditioner, just before hopping out of the shower, rinse your hair with the ACV mixture. You can either do one last rinse with water, or leave it in. As I said, the scent will disappear completely as it dries.
Take your vinegar rinse up a notch by boiling chamomile (for blonde hair), rosemary (for dark hair) or nettle (any hair color) in the water before adding the apple cider vinegar. (Just be sure to strain the herbs out before adding ACV.)
Who Should Use This: Anyone who wants a little extra clarifying or suffers from dandruff, oily scalp, or dullness. In addition, anyone who wants a little extra smoothing shine should try an ACV rinse.
5. Olive Oil
How to Use Olive Oil on Your Hair
To moisturize and strengthen: Pop 1/2 cup of olive oil in the microwave for 15 seconds (or heat on very low for a few minutes) – just until it’s warm enough to matter, but not so hot that it burns your skin. Apply to damp (not dripping!) hair. Wrap with plastic wrap or cover with a warm towel. Leave this on for 20 minutes to an hour, and then shampoo out as usual.
To smooth and shine: Put a scant 1/2 tsp of olive oil in your palms and rub. Then apply to the top of your hair, moving downward.
Who Should Use This: Everyone! Olive oil is great for any hair type and helps with pretty much any issue you may have.

Eat a balanced diet that includes lean protein and resists saturated fat and sugar.

Take a multivitamin. A basic multivitamin should replace nutrients from any vitamin or mineral deficiencies you may have.

Drink at least 8 cups of water a day. Water is vital to life.

Try to avoid extreme physical and psychological stress.

Massage your head while taking a shower at least once a week. Scalp massage will increase blood flow to the scalp and increase circulation.

DONT USE HEAT IT CAUSES BREAKAGE.
As far as getting it to grow I have some AMAZING home remedies you should try out.

1.) Olive Oil
It’s the solution to a lot of things, and can help you grow 2-3 within a WEEK. Okay, so first you need to heat 2-4 tablespoons of olive oil, and apply it all over your head. tilt your head upside down for 4 minutes, and then leave it in for 2 hours. when the 2 hours are up, wash your hair with shampoo (try not to use conditioner) and let your hair air/towel dry. do this once a day for a week.
you should check out this video, which is where i got my information from. the girl in the video said her hair grew 2-3 inches within a week. she also left a FAQ in her description box, and it includes some important tips. the link for the video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxmZntIuQ_o

2.) Baking Soda
Mix together 2 tbsp. of shampoo with 2 tbsp. of baking soda.
Massage mixture into the scalp.
Rinse mixture out with shampoo. Follow up with a deep conditioner.

3.) Plain Yogurt
Simply whip a good enough amount to cover all of your hair of plain, unflavored yogurt in a bowl. Apply to dry hair. Massage the yogurt into your scalp. Then thoroughly spread the remaining yogurt to the rest of your hair from roots to ends. Leave the yogurt in for 1-2 hours. Then rinse the yogurt out.

4.) Aloe Vera
Use Aloe Vera by directly squeezing the gel out of a plant and massaging it into your head. leave it on for 30 minutes before washing off.

5.) Eggs
Use the egg white and yolk, mix it well and put into your hair. Wait for 5-10 minutes and wash it out. Follow that with your regular shampoo. Do this about once a week.

6.) Avocado
mash enough avocado to cover your hair and add water until it becomes pasty. massage into scalp and hair and wait about 10 minutes before washing out.

7) Mayonnaise
Take about one cup of mayonnaise and put it in your dry hair. Massage it through your scalp and then leave it in for 15 minutes before shampooing.

8.) Rose Water
Massage rose water on your scalp and let it stay on for 20 minutes before rinsing it off. (dont have rose water? make your own here: http://www.nichetopics.info/make-homemade-rose-water.html

For BEST results, mix eggs and mayo and olive oil together!

9.) Don’t shower as often
Your hair has natural oils in it that are good for you. Washing your hair strips away those oils. In truth, you should only try to wash your hair every two days. This will encourage hair growth.

10.) Massage Your Head
Massaging your head circulates your blood flow, encouraging hair growth.

11.) Eat Protein
Your hair is made of protein. So eat A LOT of it to be sure your hair grows.

12.) Trim Your Hair
You may think that trimming your hair shortens it, but letting it go long and free without trims only causes split ends. Don’t trim your hair TOO often, just be sure you do.

(Weird tip: before you get out of the shower, stick your head under the water and turn it on freezing. Your head may be chilly for a little while after, but cold water closes up your cuticles and gives your hair a nice shine.)

Best of luck!!

(p.s. a lot of these remedies also give yo shine and softness. try to do them on a regular basis to help more.)
