palm reading

Source : Yahoo AnswersQuestion : Have you ever had a a psychic reading that came true?

Palm reading, tarot cards, other? If so, I live in los angeles I would like to find a psychic that is genuine. (please don’t answer to make jokes, I know 99 percent of psychics are not real!)

Answer by kris
no. to be honest. if you want something to happen, Make it! we have the power to do anything! how do you predict if your life is up to you?

Answer by aspicco
Yes I have. As a matter of fact, the woman who read me was remarkably accurate…

But even the same psychic, if accurate with you, may not be accurate with the next person.
Your best bet is to ask around and see who has had good experiences with any psychic…

It is true that your life is up to you. What a good psychic does is tap into what you are setting up for the future… so you can change the prediction if you don’t like it… after all, it’s your future

Answer by Baron Otto Matic
You mean out of all the tries, someone got lucky once? Speaking of percentages, how does one determine if they are psychic? 20 percent? 50? 10? If they are still wrong more than right, is just taking their word good enough? There is a million dollar prize for the first person that can simply prove what they clam. Until someone steps up an take one for the team, 100% of those that say-so are liars.

Yes, I have found in some cases. Especially, palm reading is true. I was not believing palmistry before. However, the 7 kinds of hands (Elementary hand, square hand, conic hand, philosophic hand, spatulate hand, psychic hand and mixed hand) convinced me that it is a science. Apart from this, the head line can predict suicidal tendency, madness and the intelligence and knowledge etc. The marriage line does predict the death of the partner or divorce. I don,t want to convince since you have already your mindset that 99 percent of psychics are fake. Yes, I know the people are of commercial bent of mind and they make money. However, all are not fake. If it was fake, it would not have prevailed from the time immemorial. If you go to consult a doctor and you don’t get cured, did you ever tell that medical science is failed. No one says that 99 percent of doctors fake. 2+2 becomes 4, sometimes 5 and sometimes 3 in astrological and predictive arithmetic. So, find a good psychic by the help of reliable reference. You may study some books on palmistry and psychic reading to know the truthfulness of this esoteric science.

psychic powers do exist but i doubt that they do so at a level that can be used to predict events for others

Answer by Jana
I have known a few that were excellent- (but none I could recommend because it was so long ago!)

Anyone who says palm reading is a hoax doesn’t realize that it was once used exclusively by doctors, in India (and more) to examine the health of a woman… (prohibited from undressing in front of anyone other than her husband…!) A lot can be found in the hands: color, strength, deep red lines, weak broken lines, bony or fat fingers, nervousness, liver spots, nails, ridges, brittleness, etc.

If I had to go to one, it would have to be from a recommendation, and more of an adviser, for direction, weak areas, needed improvement, career and personalities I might be involved with…I wouldn’t seek out a “fortune teller,” who might just pick up on my own thoughts, and tell me what I wish for, or would want to hear…

They have to make a living, too. A set fee should be reasonable-with no extras for “removing spells,” or meeting in a graveyard to take off some “curse,” that you had, and weren’t aware of-don’t fall for that. Look up local psychics and then check references-call one or two and if there is NO ONE to call, willing to give a good reference, I’d look elsewhere…

Even better- You can pray on it and keep your eyes open for the inevitable answer, clue or accidental meeting, that will show up in some unusual, “coincidental” way!

Research the term “Cold Reading”.

That should answer all her questions.

Cold Reading:
Cold reading is a series of techniques used by mentalists, illusionists, fortune tellers, psychics, and mediums to determine or express details about another person, often in order to convince them that the reader knows much more about a subject than they actually do.[1] Without prior knowledge of a person, a practiced cold reader can still quickly obtain a great deal of information about the subject by analyzing the person’s body language, age, clothing or fashion, hairstyle, gender, sexual orientation, religion, race or ethnicity, level of education, manner of speech, place of origin, etc. Cold readers commonly employ high probability guesses about the subject, quickly picking up on signals from their subjects as to whether their guesses are in the right direction or not, and then emphasizing and reinforcing any chance connections the subjects acknowledge while quickly moving on from missed guesses.

just make stuff up based on how the person seems…that’s what the ‘real’ ones do………plenty of room for humor. make some silly wrong guesses and such.

Answer by appleseed582
There is an excellent article on how mind readers, psychics, and fortune tellers pull of the scam on Just put psychic readings into the search box. Instead of telling your friends serious stuff about their future, think of things you already know about them and change them into something really funny. For example, if your friend has a crush on a particular guy, you could look at her palm, and point out the “love line” and make up a story about how you see it intersecting with one showing she will meet a special guy. Draw it out adding a little more detail until she realizes you are describing her crush. Then turn the description towards a guy who she would never date in a million years or a nerdy celebrity. Sounds like a fun party!

This is how ya do it:

You: “oh, come in, come in. Don’t tell me, my vision, my VISION, it says you came here by car? ”

Him/Her: “No”

You: “I meant, while your mom was pregnant with you, she was being driven inside a car to the hospital, correct?”

Him/Her: “Yeah, you’re good!”

Answer by dark scar
the good ones use the full cold reading method, search this online for an explanation, but most just make guesses based on what they seem like.
the difference is that in cold reading they make the decisions based on much wider criteria, and they rely somewhat on the subjects reaction to a prediction, emphasizing things that the subject comfirms with his/her body language, facial expression, ect
to add humor depends on your friends’ sense of humor. just add a few failed funny predictions or something like that. or some funny card meanings. that sort of thing

Answer by Nevaeh
I recommend checking out a book at the library, and if they don’t have one on palm reading, try a bookstore. 🙂

Answer by ChrisChristine
Take the palm in your hand. if it is dry, it needs more water, if it is wet, you have watered too much, if it has white spots, it has a bug, if it doesn’t look good, try using a fertilizer. One teaspoon to one teaspoon of water.

Oh you mean….nevermind.

Answer by Thalia C
well each “big” line on your hand such as the fate line, heart line, life line, and head line. to read more about it go to google and type in “palm reading in daring book for girls”

Answer by orphanedhanyou
none of the predicting arts are definitive.
you just take what you see in the cards, palms, or whatever and make a PREDICTION. and most of the time once someone hears that such and such is in their future they subconsciously move them selves towards that point because its ‘supposed’ to happen anyway.
you can find palm reading books or look up how to stuff on the internet but its just looking at the lines on your hands and placing a pre-decided meaning to them. i read in a magazine once that that the deepest top line on your hand towards your fingers if curved up=your good to your partner in relationships, striaght=alright, curved down=bad.

Kendall Schmidt Palm Reading

Written by LoveDrNikki

I was born with my innate gifts of clairvoyance (see things), clairaudient (hear things), clairsentient (know things). By the time I was 3 I knew there were things that I knew that I could not tell anyone about because they got really weird if I did. At 13 I got my first deck of tarot cards (Ryder – Waite) and started doing readings professionally.

At 16 I had my first near death experience when I was in a pick-up truck that hit a semi-tractor trailer truck. My dad had died several years earlier – and he had been a semi-truck driver. I was fortunate enough to receive my Father as a Spirit Guide that day, My second NDE was when I was 18 – I was in a Piper Cub 2 seater aircraft that did a hard landing into the side of a mountain. I have spent my entire life studying and working with the wyrd and wonderful in all its guises. While not required by any means I enjoy using the Tarot or any of the other divination tools I have at hand you may want to use for your reading.

I have Doctorate Degrees in Divinity (D.Div) and Theology (Th.D.) from Northern Lights Seminary and continue to study. Among some of my other titles are Psychic Minister, Esoteric Minister, High Priestess, Shaman, Spiritual Coach, Psychic Coach, Psychic Healer, Life Coach, Relationship Coach, Small Business Consultant, Paralegal, Executive Director and College student. I am honored to be a “reader’s reader,” meaning that many of the people do readings for are readers or spiritual workers themselves.
